Merrill Jean could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Nathanial Cano made a huge save. Tara Hills's Merrill Jean got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nathanial Cano was out of position in the 23 minute of play, and Riley Thurston capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Riley Thurston really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Bill Benton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rex Ambriz having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Chispita FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Riley Thurston fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Merrill Jean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Nathanial Cano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Bill Benton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chispita FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bill Benton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rex Ambriz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Duke Latham fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tara Hills's protests and gave Duke Latham a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Tara Hills fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 44th minute. Penalty! After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bill Benton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nathanial Cano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Merrill Jean went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Domenic Gauthier lost his temper 68 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 67th minute of the game. One of Tara Hills:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Chispita FC:s goal.
