Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) Thad Britton came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Bellingham Dolphins's Edmundo Oakley. But to his dismay, Edmundo Oakley quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Thad Britton made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Cory Helms sent off a good shot on target. Bellingham Dolphins's German Shockley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kareem Matthews in the 7th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Defiance FC's goalkeeper Thad Britton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cory Helms. Kareem Matthews fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without German Shockley having to interfere. In the 20th minute Pat Pryor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thad Britton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 22nd match minute, Defiance FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Melvin French to maneuver through the defense. Kareem Matthews received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. German Shockley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 29th minute Kareem Matthews shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but German Shockley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Armando Mathis hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. German Shockley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kareem Matthews, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kareem Matthews to make the kick off. Andre Matthews made in the 57th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Edmundo Oakley immediately put the ball in play. After having played for 59 minutes, Kareem Matthews managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Defiance FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kareem Matthews was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kareem Matthews sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 70 minutes into the match, Kareem Matthews dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of German Shockley, 2-1. In the 78th minute Pat Pryor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thad Britton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 82 played minutes Bellingham Dolphins got a freekick which was hit by Edmundo Oakley. The supporters of Bellingham Dolphins booed when Defiance FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stanley Goldstein didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 94 played minutes, Bellingham Dolphins's Andre Matthews shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Thad Britton came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bellingham Dolphins reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Oakley in the 95th minute of play forced Defiance FC's goalkeeper Thad Britton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bellingham Dolphins were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Defiance FC for a fine match.
