The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Murray Purvis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tuan Dennison struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Santiago Kelley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Burlington FC. 8 minutes into the match, Thrives FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tuan Dennison came free, but Santiago Kelley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Waylon Daniel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santiago Kelley having to interfere. Santiago Kelley stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Waylon Daniel's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Thrives FC's goal looked a bit too open when Waylon Daniel came free, but Santiago Kelley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute, Tuan Dennison got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Burlington FC's Tuan Dennison got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Waylon Daniel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santiago Kelley having to interfere. After 41 minutes of play, Burlington FC's Tuan Dennison made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Santiago Kelley was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 47th match minute, Thrives FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Murray Purvis to maneuver through the defense.

Lloyd Steiner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Waylon Daniel came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Burlington FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Waylon Daniel couldn't finish the play. With his leg Santiago Kelley managed to avoid a goal in the 58thth minute, when Burlington FC's Tuan Dennison fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Thrives FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Waylon Daniel 62 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-3. Santiago Kelley didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jacques Rhoades went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. The long shot by Brett Vasquez in the 70th minute really tested Santiago Kelley's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 71st match minute, Thrives FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matt Beam to maneuver through the defense. Tuan Dennison's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Santiago Kelley read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. Thrives FC's Lloyd Steiner got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tuan Dennison received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Santiago Kelley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Burlington FC booed when Thrives FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matt Beam didn't get a good kick on the ball. Waylon Daniel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santiago Kelley having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, Thrives FC's goal looked a bit too open when Waylon Daniel came free, but Santiago Kelley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 98th match minute, Burlington FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ezra Toth to maneuver through the defense. The Thrives FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Burlington FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
