Matt Beam's late challenge caught a REFTS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matt Beam helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of REFTS booed when Thrives FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matt Beam didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute Bryan Dickinson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Santiago Kelley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Domenico Cardoso came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the REFTS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Domenico Cardoso couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bryan Dickinson in the 15th minute of play forced Thrives FC's goalkeeper Santiago Kelley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Domenico Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bryan Dickinson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 30th minute, Thrives FC's Lloyd Steiner dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domenico Cardoso in the 44th minute of play forced Thrives FC's goalkeeper Santiago Kelley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Santiago Kelley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domenico Cardoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Domenico Cardoso made a kick off. Sammy Rodriquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th minute, Sammy Rodriquez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bryan Dickinson might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Santiago Kelley. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bryan Dickinson ran back to his position shaking his head. Domenico Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santiago Kelley having to interfere. 71 minutes into the game, one of Thrives FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Santiago Kelley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Domenico Cardoso in the 85th minute of the match. 92 minutes into the match, REFTS's goal looked a bit too open when Lloyd Steiner came free, but Alec Mann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 98th minute of the match, Domenico Cardoso tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Santiago Kelley saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
