Brielle's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chispita FC the free kick. After 19 played minutes Brielle got a freekick which was hit by Darin Herron. In the 20th minute, Karl Norwood got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Chispita FC's Nathanial Cano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brendon Crandall in the 22nd minute of play. Stephen Corona made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tod Fay in the 26th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Brielle's zone, Karl Norwood stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stephen Corona came out of the goal and Karl Norwood tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Karl Norwood fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stephen Corona having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bill Benton in the 36th minute of play forced Brielle's goalkeeper Stephen Corona to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nathanial Cano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brendon Crandall in the 39th minute of the match. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bill Benton made a kick off. Darin Herron recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brendon Crandall received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nathanial Cano came out and tried to block the shot, but Brendon Crandall slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 60th minute. Karl Norwood fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stephen Corona having to interfere. After having played for 75 minutes, Karl Norwood managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chispita FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl Norwood was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Karl Norwood fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chispita FC's protests and gave Karl Norwood a yellow card for diving instead. Karl Norwood hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Nathanial Cano made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Brendon Crandall sent off a good shot on target. Pete Starnes charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
