Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ace Tipton made the kick off and thus started the match. After a rather tough play, DC united's Terrence Ferreira got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 4th minute Cobi Goodwin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgilio Cummins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daryl Rose took the ball and in the 5 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Virgilio Cummins. Virgilio Cummins dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. If Tim Rosas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 11th match minute, DC united was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henry Hendricks to maneuver through the defense. Virgilio Cummins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jude Powers's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. After 16 minutes of play, DC united's Luciano Hale made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reed Bateman was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 21st minute Jude Powers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgilio Cummins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jude Powers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. DC united's Virgilio Cummins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jude Powers in the 23rd minute of play. After having played for 24 minutes, Daryl Rose managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cherryvale's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daryl Rose was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Cherryvale's Jude Powers in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye DC united's goalie prevented a goal. When Randall Patel came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Cherryvale fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Randall Patel couldn't finish the play. Virgilio Cummins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Josef Colbert in the 34th minute of play. After 35 minutes, Jude Powers made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. DC united's Virgilio Cummins tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Virgilio Cummins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jude Powers, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. If Ray Redd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Terrence Ferreira kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Virgilio Cummins stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jude Powers's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. If Tim Rosas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Cherryvale were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jude Powers was the one to do the kick off. Daryl Rose struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Virgilio Cummins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cherryvale. Pierre Coronado kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 56th minute Josef Colbert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgilio Cummins saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Jude Powers dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Virgilio Cummins, 1-3. Virgilio Cummins made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Tim Rosas sent off a good shot on target. Cherryvale's Tim Rosas got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, DC united's Terrence Ferreira got a free kick in the 67th minute. Cobi Goodwin, 67 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Josef Colbert blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Virgilio Cummins having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Ray Redd managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cherryvale's supporters rose to their feet, but Ray Redd was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Virgilio Cummins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tim Rosas came free with the goalkeeper in the 73rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Virgilio Cummins could save by the left post. Reed Bateman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luciano Hale in the 76th minute of play. Reed Bateman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luciano Hale, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. DC united's Virgilio Cummins proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save DC united from getting a goal against them. In the 93rd minute, Eduardo Arthur hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daryl Rose received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Virgilio Cummins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Cherryvale left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than DC united.
