The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Virgilio Cummins showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Winchester FC's goalkeeper Kirk Otero, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eric Cherry scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Virgilio Cummins, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Virgilio Cummins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eric Cherry in the 19th minute of the match. Al Wright recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kirk Otero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ace Tipton in the 22nd minute of the match. Luciano Hale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Kirk Otero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 29thth minute of the game Ace Tipton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Winchester FC's Kirk Otero was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eric Cherry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Al Wright struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Virgilio Cummins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Winchester FC. Conrad Neff hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Al Wright was the one to do the kick off. In the 72nd minute of the match Henry Hendricks sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kirk Otero skillfully saved the ball. 80 minutes into the match, DC united's goal looked a bit too open when Al Wright came free, but Virgilio Cummins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, DC united's Virgilio Cummins got control of the ball when Eric Cherry tried to sneak it across the goal line.
