FC Chicago's Werner Meyer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save FC Chicago from getting a goal against them. ALIANZA FC's Benjamin Reilly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Ryan in the 11th minute of play. Juan McGowan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Werner Meyer managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when ALIANZA FC's Ace Acevedo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Norman Kern during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Norman Kern kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. After 27 played minutes, FC Chicago's Jarrod Hemphill shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Benjamin Reilly came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Chicago reached it. Giuseppe Moon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32nd minute of the match, Ace Acevedo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Werner Meyer saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Werner Meyer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ace Acevedo in the 35th minute of the match. Norman Kern fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Werner Meyer having to interfere. The supporters of ALIANZA FC booed when FC Chicago was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Ryan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ace Acevedo struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Werner Meyer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ALIANZA FC. Norman Kern could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Werner Meyer made a huge save. Benjamin Reilly made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Ryan in the 46th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 51st minute, Jaime Ryan made a precise shot to the right of Benjamin Reilly. ALIANZA FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 57th minute, Ace Acevedo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ALIANZA FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Thanks to some nice moves Cliff Love could shoot a difficult shot in the 65th minute, which Benjamin Reilly however easily saved by the left post. Grady Larkin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Benjamin Reilly made a huge save. Ace Acevedo scored 2-1 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Werner Meyer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Osvaldo Schaefer managed to get in a good position for a shot. ALIANZA FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Osvaldo Schaefer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Werner Meyer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giuseppe Moon in the 78th minute of play forced FC Chicago's goalkeeper Werner Meyer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Werner Meyer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lance Bautista in the 82nd minute of play. In the 83rd minute, Lance Bautista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Heriberto Burkett charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Norman Kern received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Werner Meyer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the FC Chicago defense, Giuseppe Moon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Werner Meyer. The FC Chicago fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Werner Meyer should have stopped the shot. When the referee ended the match the ALIANZA FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
