Spectators: 7620 (Terracing: 5786, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 60) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Freddy Whittington got the match started through his kick off. After some careless play in the Chino Hills defense, Freddy Whittington kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alfred Lucas. The Chino Hills fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alfred Lucas should have stopped the shot. Daniel Grubb fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfred Lucas having to interfere. Alfred Lucas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Freddy Whittington, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Chino Hills's Jose Avery sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dudley Hayes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 23 minutes, Bill Dawkins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chino Hills's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bill Dawkins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Chino Hills's zone, Daniel Grubb stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfred Lucas came out of the goal and Daniel Grubb tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Freddy Whittington sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Grubb recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jose Avery in the 34th minute of play forced Hobart's goalkeeper Dudley Hayes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bill Dawkins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dudley Hayes having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Hobart's goalkeeper Dudley Hayes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bill Dawkins. Xavier Bloom hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. After 43 played minutes Hobart got a freekick which was hit by Guy Dickey. Hobart's Daniel Grubb got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jose Avery to make the kick off. Jose Avery received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Dudley Hayes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dudley Hayes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bill Dawkins in the 54th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jose Avery in the 56th minute of play forced Hobart's goalkeeper Dudley Hayes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Grubb kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. After 60 played minutes Chino Hills got a freekick which was hit by Willy Blanton. Freddy Whittington blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alfred Lucas having to make a save. With a little luck, Chino Hills's Alfred Lucas got control of the ball when Daniel Grubb tried to sneak it across the goal line. Freddy Whittington received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Alfred Lucas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Hobart's Quincy Phipps got a free kick in the 67th minute. Dudley Hayes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jose Avery went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 77th minute, Hobart's Freddy Whittington dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Dudley Hayes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bill Dawkins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Freddy Whittington fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfred Lucas having to interfere. After having played for 96 minutes, Daniel Grubb managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hobart's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Grubb was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hobart played a much better game than Chino Hills and deserved their victory. The Chino Hills players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
