Spectators: 6768 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1768, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Devon Lovell made the kick off which started today's match. When Palmer Croft came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the F.C. Rapid fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Palmer Croft couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Devon Lovell in the 7th minute of play forced FC Chicago's goalkeeper Werner Meyer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th minute, Jaime Ryan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, F.C. Rapid's Lee Keen got a free kick in the 14th minute. When FC Chicago's Grady Larkin in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye F.C. Rapid's goalie prevented a goal. In the 18th minute, Jaime Ryan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Jaime Ryan was shown his second yellow card after 31 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 31st minute, Jaime Ryan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Palmer Croft sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Werner Meyer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Devon Lovell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd minute Devon Lovell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Werner Meyer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 44th minute, Grady Larkin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Chicago fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Archie Egan in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Werner Meyer saved FC Chicago from getting behind. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The wind increased when Grady Larkin made the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes FC Chicago got a freekick which was hit by Cliff Love. Palmer Croft fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Werner Meyer having to interfere. Cliff Love kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. When Dalton Massey fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Chicago's protests and gave Dalton Massey a yellow card for diving instead. 58 minutes into the game, one of FC Chicago:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Jed Justice placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! FC Chicago's Werner Meyer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Devon Lovell in the 65th minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, F.C. Rapid's Palmer Croft sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Werner Meyer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Devon Lovell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Palmer Croft received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Werner Meyer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Grady Larkin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st match minute, FC Chicago was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Josiah Alvarez to maneuver through the defense. F.C. Rapid's Devon Lovell got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Devon Lovell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Werner Meyer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Palmer Croft in the 87th minute of play. Grady Larkin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
