Genaro Oakley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cobi Hoskins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes into the match, Roda Soccer's goalkeeper Rudolf Reynolds had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dale Storr. Rigoberto Bartlett took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 21st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Genaro Oakley. Santos AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 25 played minutes Santos AFC got a freekick which was hit by Karl Lynch. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Steven Vincent in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Genaro Oakley saved Santos AFC from getting behind. Steven Vincent struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Genaro Oakley didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Roda Soccer. Dalton Newell hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Roda Soccer's Albert Bowden tried to score from far away in the 34th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cobi Hoskins in the 36th minute of play forced Santos AFC's goalkeeper Genaro Oakley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th match minute, Roda Soccer was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Moreland to maneuver through the defense. Roda Soccer's Rudolf Reynolds played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cary Bernal in the 40th minute of play. Dale Storr fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rudolf Reynolds having to interfere. Merlin Kelley hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cobi Hoskins was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Cobi Hoskins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Roda Soccer's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cobi Hoskins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Steven Vincent fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Genaro Oakley having to interfere. Steven Vincent received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Genaro Oakley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Cobi Hoskins's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Genaro Oakley was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Genaro Oakley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cobi Hoskins, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 68th minute Cary Bernal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rudolf Reynolds saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 70 minutes into the game, Dana Morrison was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Roda Soccer's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santos AFC the free kick. Dale Storr recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Steven Vincent fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Genaro Oakley having to interfere. Cobi Hoskins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Genaro Oakley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 89th minute, C.J. Ali got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cary Bernal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
