The player immediately received a yellow card. 12 minutes into the game, Cássio Brodel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Los Angeles Foxes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Legacy America the free kick. A collision led to Los Angeles Foxes getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Cássio Brodel hit a great ball. With a little luck, Los Angeles Foxes's Robin Montgomery got control of the ball when Sean Pina tried to sneak it across the goal line. Emilio Ferrell's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Walter Sprague read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Los Angeles Foxes's Robin Montgomery proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Los Angeles Foxes from getting a goal against them. In the 32nd match minute, Los Angeles Foxes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvin Huang to maneuver through the defense. C.J. Beltre took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 34th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Robin Montgomery. Los Angeles Foxes's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Robin Montgomery made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zane Blue in the 37th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Legacy America's goal looked a bit too open when Emilio Ferrell came free, but Walter Sprague reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Emilio Ferrell to strike the kick off in the second half. Douglass Roberts kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. In the 57th minute Sean Pina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robin Montgomery saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd minute Emilio Ferrell managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. Zane Blue sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 70 played minutes Los Angeles Foxes got a freekick which was hit by Gaspar Garci. Rex Durham's late challenge caught a Legacy America's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rex Durham helped the player get up and apologised. The referee gave Legacy America a penalty, 75 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by C.J. Beltre, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Los Angeles Foxes's Robin Montgomery. 1-0. In the 81st minute there was a penalty for Legacy America. C.J. Beltre stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Robin Montgomery. 2-0. In the 87th minute of the match C.J. Beltre shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Robin Montgomery showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Los Angeles Foxes's Robin Montgomery played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zane Blue in the 90th minute of play. With 97 minutes on the clock, Scottie Hankins commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 96 minutes into the game, one of Los Angeles Foxes:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Legacy America's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
