Wellston AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martin Bass was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The attack was good, but when Ronald Pike in the 16th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 21st minute, Mickey Langston left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ShoTek UTD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mickey Langston got free with Gabriel Mallory in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 28 minutes into the match, Wellston AFC's Wade Quinones sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Derick Moon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 30 minutes into the game, one of Wellston AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Gabriel Mallory, was totally fooled by ShoTek UTD's Alvin Dickinson, who 32 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Martin Bass sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rupert Quinn's late challenge caught a ShoTek UTD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rupert Quinn helped the player get up and apologised. Rupert Quinn kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. In the 41st minute, Rupert Quinn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gabriel Mallory showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronald Pike, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wade Quinones was the one to do the kick off. Ronald Pike sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ronald Pike had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 93rd match minute, ShoTek UTD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bryant Becerra to maneuver through the defense. Rupert Quinn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Derick Moon having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Wellston AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for ShoTek UTD.
