Alonzo Laird's late challenge caught a Charlotte's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alonzo Laird helped the player get up and apologised. In the 3rd minute, Alonzo Laird hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alonzo Laird hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. 9 minutes into the match, Los Angeles Foxes's goal looked a bit too open when Sherwood Tipton came free, but Robin Montgomery reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rex Durham hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. After 18 played minutes Los Angeles Foxes got a freekick which was hit by Alonzo Laird. 20 minutes into the game, Reggie Sheldon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Charlotte's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Los Angeles Foxes the free kick. After 20 played minutes Charlotte got a freekick which was hit by Reggie Sheldon. Robin Montgomery showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferdinand Mathews in the 24th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sherwood Tipton in the 25th minute of play forced Los Angeles Foxes's goalkeeper Robin Montgomery to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Robin Montgomery took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sean Dugan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute, Sherwood Tipton left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Charlotte fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When Cássio Brodel came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Los Angeles Foxes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cássio Brodel couldn't finish the play. In the 40th minute, Emilio Ferrell made a precise shot to the right of Ari McCain. Charlotte's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Emilio Ferrell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ari McCain having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Weldon Reilly made a kick off. Emilio Ferrell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emilio Ferrell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Los Angeles Foxes's Gaspar Garci got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emilio Ferrell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Ari McCain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ari McCain showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilio Ferrell, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After 72 played minutes Los Angeles Foxes got a freekick which was hit by Rex Durham. After a rather tough play, Los Angeles Foxes's Gaspar Garci got a free kick in the 76th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Charlotte's zone, Emilio Ferrell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ari McCain came out of the goal and Emilio Ferrell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ari McCain showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilio Ferrell, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. If Alonzo Laird had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Los Angeles Foxes's Alonzo Laird got a free kick in the 92nd minute. The long shot by Ferdinand Mathews in the 93rd minute really tested Robin Montgomery's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Emilio Ferrell missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 95 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Ari McCain right hand side. Los Angeles Foxes's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
