But to his dismay, Sean Pina quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. If Mickey Langston had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zane Blue in the 27th minute of play forced ShoTek UTD's goalkeeper Derick Moon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute, Zane Blue hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Legacy America getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. C.J. Beltre hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Legacy America defense, Salvatore Ritchie kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Walter Sprague. The Legacy America fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Walter Sprague should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Sean Pina managed to get in a good position for a shot. Legacy America's supporters rose to their feet, but Sean Pina was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Derick Moon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 44 minutes, Ronald Pike managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ShoTek UTD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronald Pike was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Mickey Langston had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Legacy America's Walter Sprague proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Legacy America from getting a goal against them.
