Spectators: 7765 (Terracing: 5825, Seating: 1786, VIP seats: 154) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Weldon Reilly kicked off to start the match. Derick Moon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Weldon Reilly, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Salvatore Ritchie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Charlotte's Ari McCain played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronald Pike in the 13th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Weldon Reilly in the 17th minute of play forced ShoTek UTD's goalkeeper Derick Moon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Salvatore Ritchie kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Sean Dugan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Derick Moon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mickey Langston in the 21stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ari McCain, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ari McCain made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mickey Langston in the 27th minute. In the 29th minute, ShoTek UTD's Ronald Pike dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. The supporters of ShoTek UTD booed when Charlotte was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shane Gamble didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Charlotte's zone, Mickey Langston stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ari McCain came out of the goal and Mickey Langston tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Sherwood Tipton fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Charlotte's protests and gave Sherwood Tipton a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Charlotte's Sherwood Tipton got a free kick in the 36th minute. When the match clock showed 37 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Mickey Langston sped through Charlotte's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ari McCain. 41 minutes into the match, ShoTek UTD's goal looked a bit too open when Sean Dugan came free, but Derick Moon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sean Dugan in the 41st minute of play forced ShoTek UTD's goalkeeper Derick Moon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Ferdinand Mathews charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ferdinand Mathews the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sherwood Tipton hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Weldon Reilly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Charlotte's goalkeeper Ari McCain, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mickey Langston in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ari McCain prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 78th minute Ronald Pike shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ari McCain saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 79th minute, Sherwood Tipton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 80 minutes of play, ShoTek UTD's Mickey Langston made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ari McCain was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to ShoTek UTD getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Garrett Gann hit a great ball. In the 95th minute, one of Charlotte:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Charlotte. ShoTek UTD were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Charlotte for a fine match.
