Spectators: 7720 (Terracing: 5791, Seating: 1775, VIP seats: 154) An unexpectedly hard shot by Sean Dugan in the 6th minute of play forced Legacy America's goalkeeper Walter Sprague to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th minute, Sean Dugan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Walter Sprague was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 17thth minute of the game Zane Blue who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Charlotte's Ari McCain was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 21st minute Weldon Reilly shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Sprague saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Legacy America defense, Weldon Reilly kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Walter Sprague. The Legacy America fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Walter Sprague should have stopped the shot. Ari McCain made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sean Pina in the 34th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Weldon Reilly in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Walter Sprague saved Legacy America from getting behind. Walter Sprague showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Weldon Reilly, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. If Sean Pina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute Zane Blue shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ari McCain saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Legacy America players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Charlotte were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zane Blue to make the kick off. C.J. Beltre took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ari McCain. Charlotte's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Zane Blue struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Ari McCain didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Legacy America. Ari McCain took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sean Pina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sean Dugan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Walter Sprague tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ari McCain showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zane Blue in the 66th minute of the match. Walter Sprague took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Weldon Reilly, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sean Dugan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Walter Sprague tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sean Dugan was extremely unlucky when he, in the 75th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 81 minutes into the match, Legacy America's goalkeeper Walter Sprague had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sean Dugan. The supporters of Legacy America booed when Charlotte was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sherwood Tipton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zane Blue recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Legacy America's zone, Sean Dugan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walter Sprague came out of the goal and Sean Dugan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 97th minute, Sean Dugan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
