Jamar Robinson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Alistair Acuna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alistair Acuna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from King Easley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daren Atkinson in the 19th minute of play forced Victory Lakes FC's goalkeeper Derrick Darling to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Cincinnati Strikers booed when Victory Lakes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nathaniel Romo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Cincinnati Strikers's goalkeeper Alistair Acuna, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 32nd minute, Ezra Hawk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nathaniel Romo during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 38 played minutes Victory Lakes FC got a freekick which was hit by Nathaniel Romo. Cincinnati Strikers's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Kurtis Clinton in the 41st minute. Cincinnati Strikers's Kurtis Clinton was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Derrick Darling in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Son Ware managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cincinnati Strikers's supporters rose to their feet, but Son Ware was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Derrick Darling breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Daren Atkinson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Derrick Darling having to interfere. When Victory Lakes FC's King Easley in the 48th minute got a chance for a shot 48th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cincinnati Strikers's goalie prevented a goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Son Ware to strike the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Victory Lakes FC's Derrick Darling got control of the ball when Daren Atkinson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daren Atkinson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Son Ware in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Derrick Darling prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Cincinnati Strikers booed when Victory Lakes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jayson Stephenson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 73rd minute of the match Kurtis Clinton shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Derrick Darling showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Nathaniel Romo hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Victory Lakes FC defense, Daren Atkinson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Derrick Darling. The Victory Lakes FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Derrick Darling should have stopped the shot. If King Easley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Daren Atkinson took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Derrick Darling. Derrick Darling dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After a rather tough play, Victory Lakes FC's Son Gardner got a free kick in the 94th minute.
