Bay Minette's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerardo Begay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 62 minutes, Gilberto German successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 63 minutes into the match, FC Barcelona's goal looked a bit too open when Gerardo Begay came free, but Gilberto German reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilberto German made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rolland Dawson in the 66th minute. Gerardo Begay recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 73rd match minute, FC Barcelona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Errol May to maneuver through the defense. Errol May fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Blackwell having to interfere.
