The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Rolland Dawson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bay Minette's supporters rose to their feet, but Rolland Dawson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerald Dwyer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 10 minutes of play, Bay Minette's Rolland Dawson made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gerald Dwyer was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Gerardo Begay managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bay Minette's supporters rose to their feet, but Gerardo Begay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerald Dwyer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bay Minette's Rolland Dawson got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Rolland Dawson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. DeMarcus Tanner struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Edgar Blackwell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Catlin AFC. A hard shot 27 in the game by Steven Cody from a close distance when the talented Edgar Blackwell managed to make a qualified save. Bay Minette's players were relieved. Jared Brower made in the 32nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Rolland Dawson. Colin Francis charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Colin Francis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 34th match minute, Catlin AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Colin Francis to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steven Cody in the 40th minute of play forced Bay Minette's goalkeeper Edgar Blackwell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Steven Cody's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edgar Blackwell was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. If DeMarcus Tanner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After the first half Bay Minette were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Steven Cody recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Catlin AFC's Gerald Dwyer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Catlin AFC from getting a goal against them. Colin Francis hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 73rdth minute of the game Steven Cody who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bay Minette's Edgar Blackwell was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Steven Cody fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Blackwell having to interfere. Gerald Dwyer made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Rolland Dawson sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 79 minutes, Gerardo Begay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bay Minette's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerardo Begay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Richie Wills kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Angelo Easley struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Gerald Dwyer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bay Minette. In the 83rd minute, Blake Haywood hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Catlin AFC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. DeMarcus Tanner hit a great ball. Edgar Blackwell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steven Cody in the 88th minute of play. Steven Cody fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edgar Blackwell having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Bay Minette's zone, DeMarcus Tanner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgar Blackwell came out of the goal and DeMarcus Tanner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 95 minutes of play, Bay Minette's Rolland Dawson made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gerald Dwyer was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bay Minette's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
