Warner Colbert charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Warner Colbert the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 16th match minute, Pine Island AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Warner Colbert to maneuver through the defense. If Warner Colbert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Pine Island AFC booed when Pelham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hector Hooks didn't get a good kick on the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Pine Island AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Hector Hooks came free, but Zachery Chan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zachery Chan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denny Zapata in the 29th minute of play. Sherman Barnes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Monty Eddy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Curt Barnard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonah Crum scored 0-1 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zachery Chan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 58th minute, Hector Hooks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 62 minutes into the game, Jonah Crum cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Zachery Chan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stanley Bragg got free with Zachery Chan in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 70th minute, J.C. Ashley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th minute Hector Hooks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zachery Chan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 81 minutes into the game, Pine Island AFC's Sherman Barnes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Curt Barnard made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Monty Eddy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pine Island AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Monty Eddy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Curt Barnard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stanley Bragg got free with Zachery Chan in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 90 minutes, Sherman Barnes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pine Island AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sherman Barnes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zachery Chan made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Stanley Bragg sent off a good shot on target. Pine Island AFC's Sherman Barnes got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sherman Barnes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Curt Barnard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 97th minute, Pelham's Denny Zapata ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Zachery Chan. Zachery Chan yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4.
