Dennis Terrells short, quick shot in the 6thth minute got Rudolph Dugan to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clint Charles in the 9th minute of play forced Cape Cod FC's goalkeeper Rudolph Dugan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rickie Friend charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rickie Friend the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rudolph Dugan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dennis Terrell in the 20th minute. After 21 minutes, Tim Zamora mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cape Cod FC and the Real Madrid FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rudolph Dugan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real Madrid FC. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by D.J. Cortez during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Cape Cod FC booed when Real Madrid FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. D.J. Cortez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute, Leonard Sanders got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 40th match minute, Real Madrid FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldo Bush to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Michael Cash during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 43 minutes, Clint Charles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Real Madrid FC and the Cape Cod FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 43 played minutes Real Madrid FC got a freekick which was hit by Clint Charles. 47 minutes into the match, Real Madrid FC's Clint Charles sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rudolph Dugan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Clint Charles to strike the kick off in the second half. After 58 minutes of play, Real Madrid FC's Dennis Terrell made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rudolph Dugan was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Clint Charles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Madrid FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Clint Charles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rudolph Dugan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 65 minutes into the match, Clint Charles notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Cape Cod FC's Rudolph Dugan. Rudolph Dugan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Dennis Terrell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Damien Drake received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Gerald Bearden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tim Zamora sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dennis Terrell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot 90 in the game by Damien Drake from a close distance when the talented Gerald Bearden managed to make a qualified save. Real Madrid FC's players were relieved. Cape Cod FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
