The crowd rose to their feet as Bandon's Ross Redd slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Randell Rivera. That made the score 1-0 after 9 minutes of play. In the 13th minute, Sheldon Willard made a precise shot to the right of Giovanni Walden. Bandon's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Gerardo Green fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Randell Rivera having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerardo Green in the 20th minute of play forced El Lago's goalkeeper Randell Rivera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Randell Rivera managed to avoid a goal in the 22ndth minute, when Bandon's Von Staley fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 23rd minute, Sheldon Willard got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Bandon booed when El Lago was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brian Whitley didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Owen Ryder had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ross Redd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Gerardo Green made the kick off in the second half. Randell Rivera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerardo Green, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th minute, one of El Lago:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for El Lago. In the 67th match minute, Bandon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laurence Jean to maneuver through the defense. El Lago were awarded a corner in the 70th minute after Bandon's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Emilio Roberts took the corner. The corner ended in Emilio Roberts almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Bandon's Giovanni Walden did a great save. 73 minutes into the game, Bandon's Gerardo Green nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Randell Rivera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1.
