The corner ended in Duncan Ochoa almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Philadelphia Sainty's Brock Albrecht did a great save. After a defensive mix-up in Darby's zone, Murray Kimbrough stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonas Lowery came out of the goal and Murray Kimbrough tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bernardo Thurston fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brock Albrecht having to interfere. Fletcher Steele fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brock Albrecht having to interfere. Olin Alvaro's late challenge caught a Darby's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bernardo Thurston made a kick off. In the 63rdth minute of the game Fletcher Steele who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Philadelphia Sainty's Brock Albrecht was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Philadelphia Sainty's Alfonzo McConnell got a free kick in the 64th minute. Brock Albrecht made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fletcher Steele in the 65th minute of play. Bernardo Thurston scored 1-0 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Brock Albrecht, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Bernardo Thurston had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Bernardo Thurston's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Brock Albrecht was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Darby fully deserved thier win.
