The supporters of Oyster Bay Cove booed when DFW Tejanos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charlton Bridges didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eddie Leon's late challenge caught a Oyster Bay Cove's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eddie Leon helped the player get up and apologised. After 29 played minutes DFW Tejanos got a freekick which was hit by Eddie Leon. Titus Haley scored 0-3 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Otis Farrell, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Noel Childers managed to get in a good position for a shot. DFW Tejanos's supporters rose to their feet, but Noel Childers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sol Simms breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Otis Farrell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dennis Harper in the 43rd minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Titus Haley stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sol Simms took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charlton Bridges, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Noel Childers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Sol Simms tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Napoleon Kelley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Titus Haley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otis Farrell having to interfere. After 76 minutes, Art Vogt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the DFW Tejanos and the Oyster Bay Cove players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 76th minute, Art Vogt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in DFW Tejanos's zone, Titus Haley stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Otis Farrell came out of the goal and Titus Haley tried to chip the ball over his head. Sol Simms didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for DFW Tejanos. The audience was convinced that Napoleon Kelley's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sol Simms was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. In the 85th minute, Rigoberto Sneed hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Napoleon Kelley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Napoleon Kelley's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sol Simms was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. The Oyster Bay Cove supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Oyster Bay Cove would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
