Spectators: 5124 (Terracing: 4044, Seating: 1080, VIP seats: 0) guatemala's Arnold Stoner started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, guatemala's goal looked a bit too open when Timothy Aviles came free, but Greg Shook reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 7th minute Timothy Aviles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Greg Shook saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 11th minute by Tommy Hansen got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Rhett Hamlin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 16th minute, Tommy Hansen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kenny Ring kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 20th minute, Timothy Aviles left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ducks fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arnold Stoner in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Troy Reyes saved Ducks from getting behind. Zane Thomason hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in guatemala's zone, Rhett Hamlin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Greg Shook came out of the goal and Rhett Hamlin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arnold Stoner kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. In the 41st minute Timothy Aviles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Greg Shook saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bruce James fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Greg Shook having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Timothy Aviles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ducks's supporters rose to their feet, but Timothy Aviles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Greg Shook breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tommy Hansen's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Troy Reyes firmly grabbed it by the left post. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Timothy Aviles to make the kick off. Troy Reyes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tommy Hansen went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Arnold Stoner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Troy Reyes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Troy Reyes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnold Stoner in the 70th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnold Stoner in the 71st minute of play forced Ducks's goalkeeper Troy Reyes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in guatemala's zone, Timothy Aviles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Greg Shook came out of the goal and Timothy Aviles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 77th minute, guatemala's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Timothy Aviles fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The supporters of Ducks booed when guatemala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jake Warren didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Timothy Aviles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. William Tolbert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Troy Reyes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ducks were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
