He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Miami City F C reached it. Cristiano Domenici received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Leland Romano struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Thanh Simon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Miami City F C. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leland Romano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanh Simon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leland Romano's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. In the 77th minute, Miami City F C's Cristiano Domenici dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. In the last second Thanh Simon throw himself and got hold of the ball when Daron Ernst in the 82ndth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. The throw-in from Blaine Goldsmith in the 89th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Miami City F C's Tad Lawler. Through an outstanding action, after 91 minutes, Thanh Simon successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Cristiano Domenici might have been able to make a better finish in the 97th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thanh Simon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristiano Domenici ran back to his position shaking his head. The Miami City F C supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Miami City F C would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
