Parker Sherwood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 6th minute of the match Ricky Hensley shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Parker Sherwood showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Healdsburg's Francisco Houston sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Parker Sherwood narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Houston in the 23rd minute of play forced Manheim FC's goalkeeper Parker Sherwood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Parker Sherwood made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geoff Haines in the 25th minute of play. After 26 played minutes Manheim FC got a freekick which was hit by Alfonzo Burkett. Dudley Winston hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. After 42 minutes, Ruben Redd mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Healdsburg and the Manheim FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Manheim FC booed when Healdsburg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruben Redd didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Healdsburg's zone, Domenic Sexton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cole Osborne came out of the goal and Domenic Sexton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Healdsburg's Cole Osborne proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Healdsburg from getting a goal against them. Manheim FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
