Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 153) Damian Kearns started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 6th minute Chuck Blackburn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waylon Sanderson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Nick Jimenez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to North Amherst getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Clinton Bateman hit a great ball. In the 14th play minute Darell Pulliam came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Felipe Ryan. 1-0. After 19 minutes, Graig Varela mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kansas Jayhawks FC and the North Amherst players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 20 played minutes Kansas Jayhawks FC got a freekick which was hit by Graig Varela. 25 minutes into the game, Damian Kearns lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Felipe Ryan. North Amherst's Felipe Ryan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save North Amherst from getting a goal against them. When Chuck Blackburn came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the North Amherst fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chuck Blackburn couldn't finish the play. North Amherst's Chuck Blackburn got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Chuck Blackburn to strike the kick off in the second half. Felipe Ryan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darell Pulliam in the 54th minute of play. If Nick Jimenez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Kansas Jayhawks FC's zone, Clinton Bateman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Waylon Sanderson came out of the goal and Clinton Bateman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Felipe Ryan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damian Kearns, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 66th minute, Keith Langley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Damian Kearns, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 76 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Felipe Ryan was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. If Darell Pulliam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Darell Pulliam recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Waylon Sanderson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chuck Blackburn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chuck Blackburn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Darell Pulliam came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Kansas Jayhawks FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Darell Pulliam couldn't finish the play. Felipe Ryan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damian Kearns, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felipe Ryan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damian Kearns in the 95th minute of the match.
