The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Napoleon Anthony fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rufus Spicer having to interfere. 13 minutes into the match, Pottsgrove's goal looked a bit too open when Terrence Cortes came free, but Rufus Spicer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rufus Spicer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Napoleon Anthony went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. If Santos Ladner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute, Santos Ladner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Leon Gibbons sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Philip Vela made an important save on a dangerous shot by Winston Dunn in the 37th minute. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Santos Ladner took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Philip Vela to make any attempt to save it. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Napoleon Anthony to strike the kick off in the second half. Santos Ladner struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Philip Vela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pottsgrove. If Leon Gibbons had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Winston Dunn's late challenge caught a Mahopac AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Winston Dunn helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Pottsgrove getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Winston Dunn hit a great ball. A hard shot by Armando Rodrigues from long distance, 69 minutes into the match, got Rufus Spicer's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 72nd minute, Santos Ladner left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pottsgrove fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Pottsgrove's Leon Gibbons got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leon Gibbons in the 79th minute of play forced Mahopac AFC's goalkeeper Philip Vela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 87 minutes into the match, Mahopac AFC's Armando Rodrigues broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Pottsgrove's Rufus Spicer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Pottsgrove from getting a goal against them. After 91 played minutes Mahopac AFC got a freekick which was hit by Chase Stone. In the 94th minute Santos Ladner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Philip Vela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 98 minutes into the match, Mahopac AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Leon Gibbons came free, but Philip Vela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Mahopac AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Pottsgrove.
