Rudolph Madsen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cameron Charles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Luis Swenson made a huge save. Brent Watt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilmer Blackwell having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sammy Cruz in the 17th minute of play forced Weehawken's goalkeeper Wilmer Blackwell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rudolph Madsen in the 22nd minute of play forced Watsontown FC's goalkeeper Luis Swenson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 26 in the game by Cameron Charles from a close distance when the talented Luis Swenson managed to make a qualified save. Watsontown FC's players were relieved. Dustin Baltazar hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. 41 minutes into the match, Weehawken's goal looked a bit too open when Brent Watt came free, but Wilmer Blackwell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th minute, Cameron Charles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Brent Watt to strike the kick off in the second half. When Rudolph Madsen came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Weehawken fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rudolph Madsen couldn't finish the play. In the 60th minute Rudolph Madsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luis Swenson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cameron Charles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Luis Swenson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Watsontown FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luis Swenson should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Weehawken's Wilmer Blackwell got control of the ball when Sammy Cruz tried to sneak it across the goal line. In a very dangerous position, a player in Weehawken fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 84th minute. Penalty! If Cameron Charles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rudolph Madsen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luis Swenson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play.
