Daniel Deaton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ron Dobbs, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Ladysmith's Jonas Herrera slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jon Shultz. That made the score 1-1 after 22 minutes of play.
