Sammy Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Deaton having to interfere. In the 20thth minute of the game Brent Watt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ladysmith's Daniel Deaton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 20th minute, Adrian Stokes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sammy Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Abe Huber's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luis Swenson was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. In the 67th minute, Sammy Cruz sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Ladysmith's Daniel Deaton didn't even have to move. Watsontown FC's Rosario Washington got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Abe Huber came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Ladysmith fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abe Huber couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Abe Huber managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ladysmith's supporters rose to their feet, but Abe Huber was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luis Swenson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
