South Boston's Ian Gary played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brandon Olson in the 4th minute of play. A wasted opportunity for Spring Hill FC. 10 minutes into the game, Spring Hill FC's Phil Sutherland nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ian Gary made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Phil Sutherland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Phil Sutherland in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ian Gary saved South Boston from getting behind. Kris McCormick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Ian Gary tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ian Gary showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sol Rose in the 20th minute of the match. If Phil Sutherland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 24 minutes, Brandon Olson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Spring Hill FC and the South Boston players grew even worse after the yellow card. Brandon Olson hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Collin Sexton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Collin Sexton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quinn Peoples having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reyes Cohen got free with Quinn Peoples in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 39th minute, Collin Sexton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Reyes Cohen struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Reyes Cohen made the kick off in the second half. Phil Sutherland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Ian Gary tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 61 minutes, Phil Sutherland managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Spring Hill FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phil Sutherland was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kris McCormick could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Ian Gary made a huge save. Phil Sutherland took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ian Gary. Ian Gary dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Phil Sutherland in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ian Gary saved South Boston from getting behind. Collin Sexton scored 1-2 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Quinn Peoples, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 89 minutes into the match, South Boston's goalkeeper Ian Gary had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kris McCormick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phil Sutherland in the 91st minute of play forced South Boston's goalkeeper Ian Gary to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Phil Sutherland's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ian Gary read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. The Spring Hill FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Spring Hill FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
