In the 44th minute, Swan Song FC's Carlos Dutton seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Carlos Dutton the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Swan Song FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Carlos Dutton had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of Federal Way booed when Swan Song FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Dutton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benton made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Chris Singletary was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Sydney Jefferson fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sterling Willoughby in the 72nd minute of play forced Swan Song FC's goalkeeper D.J. Storr to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The goalkeeper, Chris Singletary, was totally fooled by Swan Song FC's Jeremy Brannon, who 95 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Swan Song FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
