Sterling Willoughby's late challenge caught a C.A. Buenos Aires's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sterling Willoughby helped the player get up and apologised. After 11 played minutes Federal Way got a freekick which was hit by Sterling Willoughby. If Gregory Mosley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Santo Gray received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Chris Singletary tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute Santo Gray shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chris Singletary saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Santo Gray fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chris Singletary having to interfere. 21 minutes into the game, Tomas Gillis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Federal Way's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.A. Buenos Aires the free kick. In the 21st minute, Tomas Gillis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 25 in the game by Sterling Willoughby from a close distance when the talented Mark Sharpe managed to make a qualified save. C.A. Buenos Aires's players were relieved. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Santo Gray was the one to do the kick off. Federal Way's Chris Singletary played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santo Gray in the 54th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Gregory Mosley could shoot a difficult shot in the 58th minute, which Chris Singletary however easily saved by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Santo Gray managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.A. Buenos Aires's supporters rose to their feet, but Santo Gray was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chris Singletary breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Jonathon Field had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Santo Gray managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.A.
