In the 19th minute, Desmond Hoover got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Desmond Hoover had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laurence Tyler placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! After a defensive mix-up in United Galaxy SF's zone, Logan Gonzalez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robin Bartley came out of the goal and Logan Gonzalez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 34 minutes into the match, Rohnert's goal looked a bit too open when Javier Gregory came free, but Lincoln Sherman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. United Galaxy SF's Robin Bartley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Desmond Hoover in the 36th minute of play. After having played for 41 minutes, Logan Gonzalez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rohnert's supporters crossed their fingers, but Logan Gonzalez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the final whistle went the supporters of United Galaxy SF were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Rohnert side.
