Sterling Keene took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Desmond Hoover, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 5 minutes into the match, Tuscon FC's Ed Galloway sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lincoln Sherman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 8 minutes into the game, Rohnert's Desmond Hoover nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sterling Keene made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 17 minutes, Phillip Rowell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tuscon FC and the Rohnert players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Rohnert booed when Tuscon FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phillip Rowell didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Waller in the 20th minute of play forced Rohnert's goalkeeper Lincoln Sherman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Cyrus Rucker had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sterling Keene. Tuscon FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cyrus Rucker was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cyrus Rucker during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cyrus Rucker kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Logan Gonzalez in the 34th minute of play forced Tuscon FC's goalkeeper Sterling Keene to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Rohnert's goalkeeper Lincoln Sherman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ed Galloway. In the 37th minute Neil Rodriguez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lincoln Sherman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sterling Keene showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alistair Sanders, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Sterling Keene didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cyrus Rucker went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Sterling Keene made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Desmond Hoover in the 44th minute of play. In the 45th minute, Cyrus Rucker left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rohnert fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4. The Tuscon FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Rohnert were winning 2-4.

58 minutes into the match, Alfredo Cavazos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lincoln Sherman. Rohnert's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alfredo Cavazos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-4. 61 minutes into the match, Rohnert's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Waller came free, but Lincoln Sherman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sterling Keene made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alistair Sanders in the 62nd minute. In the 66th match minute, Tuscon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felipe Waller to maneuver through the defense. In the 68th match minute, Tuscon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ty Jones to maneuver through the defense. 70 minutes into the match, Tuscon FC's goalkeeper Sterling Keene had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pierre Aaron. Sterling Keene came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Rohnert's Logan Gonzalez. But to his dismay, Logan Gonzalez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-5. In the 78th minute, Rohnert's Alistair Sanders dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-6. In the 83rd minute, Felipe Waller left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tuscon FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-6. Sterling Keene made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Desmond Hoover in the 91st minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Rohnert had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
