In the 5th minute George Ford shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robin Bartley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robin Bartley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from George Ford, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Jerrod Maher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. George Ford received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Robin Bartley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st minute Lincoln DeJesus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garret Crocker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, George Ford had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Robin Bartley. United Galaxy SF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that George Ford was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If George Ford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. United Galaxy SF's Robin Bartley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Ford in the 37th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in United Galaxy SF's zone, Steven Small stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robin Bartley came out of the goal and Steven Small tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aldo Workman charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aldo Workman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 42 played minutes FCM FC got a freekick which was hit by Aldo Workman. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Ford in the 44th minute of play forced United Galaxy SF's goalkeeper Robin Bartley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. George Ford's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Robin Bartley read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. The United Galaxy SF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FCM FC were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. George Ford was the one to do the kick off. United Galaxy SF's Robin Bartley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Ford in the 52nd minute of play. Robin Bartley came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by FCM FC's Jerrod Maher. But to his dismay, Jerrod Maher quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling George Ford in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Robin Bartley prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jerrod Maher could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Robin Bartley made a huge save. In the 64thth minute of the game George Ford who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but United Galaxy SF's Robin Bartley was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Robin Bartley stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Steven Small's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. In the 66th minute, Lincoln DeJesus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 68th minute of the match Adrian Welsh sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Robin Bartley skillfully saved the ball. Garret Crocker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Javier Gregory in the 71st minute of the match. Robin Bartley made an important save on a dangerous shot by George Ford in the 72nd minute. In the 73rd minute, Boyce Blackwell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jerrod Maher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 0-4 became the score in the 78th minute when George Ford elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Ford in the 90th minute of play forced United Galaxy SF's goalkeeper Robin Bartley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that George Ford's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Robin Bartley was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. In the 96th minute, George Ford reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Robin Bartley. The goal made the score 0-5. The United Galaxy SF fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FCM FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
