With 19 minutes on the clock, Peter Foster commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Houston FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! Jefferson Cadena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Zane Dickens made a huge save. Zane Dickens was out of position in the 26 minute of play, and Adolfo Trujillo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Adolfo Trujillo really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. After having played for 30 minutes, Fabian Koenig managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Houston FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabian Koenig was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 32 played minutes Houston FC got a freekick which was hit by Dallas Kinney. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Adolfo Trujillo took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Zane Dickens to make any attempt to save it. After having played for 39 minutes, Bob Bonds managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. West Hills FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bob Bonds was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmund Houser got free with Zane Dickens in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 45 minutes into the game, Nicky Neal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Ernie Crocker was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

When Nicky Neal fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Houston FC's protests and gave Nicky Neal a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jefferson Cadena in the 53rd minute of play forced Houston FC's goalkeeper Zane Dickens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zane Dickens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bob Bonds in the 56th minute of play. Zane Dickens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jefferson Cadena, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Fabian Koenig's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ernie Crocker read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. If Nicky Neal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laurence Cardoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Ernie Crocker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 75th minute, one of Houston FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Houston FC. In the 77th minute there was a penalty for West Hills FC. Luther Metzger stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Zane Dickens. 5-1. Luther Metzger made in the 80th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Houston FC's Fabian Koenig. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Fabian Koenig managed to get in a good position for a shot. Houston FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabian Koenig was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ernie Crocker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With his leg Ernie Crocker managed to avoid a goal in the 85thth minute, when Houston FC's Fabian Koenig fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ernie Crocker was out of position in the 87 minute of play, and Laurence Cardoso capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Laurence Cardoso really showed his touch with that goal: 5-2. Russ Cornelius's late challenge caught a Houston FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Russ Cornelius helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 93rd minute of the game. One of West Hills FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Houston FC:s goal. Laurence Cardoso hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. Houston FC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because West Hills FC had won, even though Houston FC had held more of the ball.
