The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Pink Boys's Junior Yeats got a free kick in the 3rd minute. The audience was convinced that Doug Hewitt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mitch McCoy was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. Merrill Dale charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Merrill Dale the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 5th match minute, Pink Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Merrill Dale to maneuver through the defense. Doug Hewitt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Mitch McCoy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pink Boys's Nicholas Eckert got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Pink Boys booed when El Paso FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dustin Simms didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pink Boys's Nicholas Eckert got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Doug Hewitt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 17 minutes into the match, El Paso FC's Laurence Benjamin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mitch McCoy narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 19th play minutes Doug Hewitt shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Mitch McCoy and just under the crossbar into goal. If Doug Hewitt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicholas Eckert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hunter Bell having to interfere. Hunter Bell made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Nicholas Eckert sent off a good shot on target. In the 32nd minute Doug Hewitt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mitch McCoy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Doug Hewitt in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mitch McCoy saved Pink Boys from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Doug Hewitt in the 39th minute of play forced Pink Boys's goalkeeper Mitch McCoy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 41 minutes of play, El Paso FC's Doug Hewitt made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mitch McCoy was left in no man's land by his defense there! Mitch McCoy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Doug Hewitt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Pink Boys players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. El Paso FC were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dwight Healy to make the kick off. Doug Hewitt who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 52ndth minute tested the skills of Mitch McCoy when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 55th minute Nicholas Eckert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hunter Bell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pink Boys's goalkeeper Mitch McCoy, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dustin Simms sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 64 minutes, Doug Hewitt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Paso FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Doug Hewitt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Junior Yeats hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Junior Yeats during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 69th match minute, Pink Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Junior Yeats to maneuver through the defense. Mel Sloan kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. After 73 minutes of play Pink Boys's Junior Yeats was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. With his leg Mitch McCoy managed to avoid a goal in the 75thth minute, when El Paso FC's Doug Hewitt fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Doug Hewitt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 79 played minutes Pink Boys got a freekick which was hit by Rodrick Eldridge. Erik Holley made in the 84th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Kirby Cordero. Myles Beltran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dwight Healy charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 88th minute, Dwight Healy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Pink Boys getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Merrill Dale hit a great ball. Doug Hewitt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Mitch McCoy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. El Paso FC played a much better game than Pink Boys and deserved their victory. The Pink Boys players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
