Bo Gallagher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andre Avila, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 7 minutes, Jerold Jarvis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Valparaiso C.F.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Jerold Jarvis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carlo Graham's late challenge caught a Valparaiso C.F.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlo Graham helped the player get up and apologised. 8 minutes into the game, one of Mishawaka:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. If Fred Regan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jerold Jarvis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Willy Temple made a huge save. Fred Regan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Bo Gallagher tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st minute, Fred Regan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fred Regan in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bo Gallagher prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Young Fowler took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bo Gallagher. Bo Gallagher dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After 42 played minutes Valparaiso C.F. got a freekick which was hit by Edmund Mattson. Luther Wolfe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The supporters of Valparaiso C.F. booed when Mishawaka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fred Regan didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th minute, Jerold Jarvis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 57th minute Luther Wolfe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Willy Temple saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mishawaka's Willy Temple played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luther Wolfe in the 62nd minute of play. Luther Wolfe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Willy Temple tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andre Avila recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bo Gallagher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andre Avila in the 71st minute of the match. Andre Avila sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 75 minutes into the match, Mishawaka's goal looked a bit too open when Jerold Jarvis came free, but Willy Temple reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Andre Avila received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Bo Gallagher tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Andre Avila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bo Gallagher made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fred Regan in the 85th minute. Luther Wolfe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute.
