The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bo Gallagher showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dwight Healy in the 4th minute of the match. Mitch McCoy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerold Jarvis, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Nicholas Eckert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bo Gallagher having to interfere. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Valparaiso C.F.'s goalkeeper Bo Gallagher, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nicholas Eckert's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bo Gallagher read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, Nicholas Eckert had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bo Gallagher. Valparaiso C.F.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nicholas Eckert was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Nicholas Eckert recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Merrill Dale fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pink Boys's protests and gave Merrill Dale a yellow card for diving instead. Bo Gallagher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dwight Healy, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Mitch McCoy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luther Wolfe's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute, Pink Boys's Dwight Healy ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Bo Gallagher. Bo Gallagher yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicholas Eckert got free with Bo Gallagher in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luther Wolfe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pink Boys's Mitch McCoy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luther Wolfe in the 39th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dwight Healy to strike the kick off in the second half. Dwight Healy hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luther Wolfe during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 63rd minute, Luther Wolfe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Nicholas Eckert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Dwight Healy came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Pink Boys fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dwight Healy couldn't finish the play. Pink Boys's Mitch McCoy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luther Wolfe in the 67th minute of play. Bo Gallagher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicholas Eckert, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Nicholas Eckert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Bo Gallagher tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luther Wolfe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Pink Boys's Mitch McCoy got control of the ball when Jerold Jarvis tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Pink Boys getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Junior Yeats hit a great ball. In the 79th minute Luther Wolfe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mitch McCoy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 82 played minutes Pink Boys got a freekick which was hit by Junior Yeats. Mitch McCoy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luther Wolfe, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Bo Gallagher made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dwight Healy in the 93rd minute of play. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pink Boys's goalkeeper Mitch McCoy, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. For all the effort they put into the match, the Valparaiso C.F. players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Pink Boys.
