Fletcher Connelly fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reyes Zuniga having to interfere. In the 11th minute Duke Esparza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reyes Zuniga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fletcher Connelly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duke Esparza in the 18th minute of play forced Philadelphia AFC's goalkeeper Reyes Zuniga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After 55 played minutes East Haven got a freekick which was hit by Edmund Shea. Philadelphia AFC's Shayne Espinoza got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Shayne Espinoza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Philadelphia AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Shayne Espinoza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dale Eckert breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edmundo Manuel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fletcher Connelly recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute.
