Cedric Bearden started the match with the kick off. With a little luck, Los Burritos's Jed Norman got control of the ball when Errol Lynch tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Robbie Vernon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Atletico Texcali's DeMarcus McCarthy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robbie Vernon in the 7th minute of play. Cedric Bearden's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jed Norman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Atletico Texcali's goal looked a bit too open when Robbie Vernon came free, but DeMarcus McCarthy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute, C.J. McNally hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. DeMarcus McCarthy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodrick Shaw in the 22nd minute of the match. Robbie Vernon struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. DeMarcus McCarthy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Burritos. In the 24th match minute, Atletico Texcali was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carson Cornelius to maneuver through the defense. Robbie Vernon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robbie Vernon in the 32nd minute of play forced Atletico Texcali's goalkeeper DeMarcus McCarthy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Robbie Vernon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of DeMarcus McCarthy. Atletico Texcali's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Robbie Vernon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. DeMarcus McCarthy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Robbie Vernon's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robbie Vernon in the 43rd minute of play forced Atletico Texcali's goalkeeper DeMarcus McCarthy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Octavio Varner struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. DeMarcus McCarthy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Burritos. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Robbie Vernon to make the kick off. Robbie Vernon received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. DeMarcus McCarthy came out and tried to block the shot, but Robbie Vernon slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 54th minute. Cedric Bearden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 62 minutes into the game, Rodrick Shaw was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Los Burritos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Atletico Texcali the free kick. After a rather tough play, Los Burritos's Rodrick Shaw got a free kick in the 62nd minute. 0-4 became the score in the 65th minute when Robbie Vernon elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. With his leg DeMarcus McCarthy managed to avoid a goal in the 71stth minute, when Los Burritos's Melvin Montano fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 75 minutes into the game, Melvin Montano recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of DeMarcus McCarthy. Melvin Montano showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. In the 79th minute Robbie Vernon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but DeMarcus McCarthy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Los Burritos were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after Atletico Texcali's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Robbie Vernon took the corner. After taking down the ball on Los Burritos's corner Robbie Vernon fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and DeMarcus McCarthy quite easily take care of the ball. Jed Norman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Errol Lynch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robbie Vernon in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck DeMarcus McCarthy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Atletico Texcali's defense didn't have a chance, in the 87th minute, when Robbie Vernon scored to the left of an out of position DeMarcus McCarthy, making the score, 0-6. Atletico Texcali's DeMarcus McCarthy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Octavio Varner in the 92nd minute of play. In the 93rd minute, Robbie Vernon fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Los Burritos's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
