The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 4th match minute, Long Beach Sharks FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caleb Lowry to maneuver through the defense. After 7 minutes, Jake Downs mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kickin Balls and the Long Beach Sharks FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 7th minute, Jake Downs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 8th match minute Luke Caldwell ran free in the middle of the field and shot a long shot which scored behind a totally surprised Avery Nicholson. 1-0. Hank Cavazos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Avery Nicholson having to interfere. In the 13th match minute, Kickin Balls was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jake Downs to maneuver through the defense. Archie Vance could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Avery Nicholson made a huge save. The supporters of Kickin Balls booed when Long Beach Sharks FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kip Whitt didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Long Beach Sharks FC's Hank Cavazos slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Avery Nicholson. That made the score 2-0 after 23 minutes of play. Kickin Balls's Raul William suffered a concussion in the 31st minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. When Kip Whitt fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Long Beach Sharks FC's protests and gave Kip Whitt a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Long Beach Sharks FC's Kip Whitt got a free kick in the 32nd minute. German Suarez was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 32nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Mel Payne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lewis Sherwood in the 35th minute of the match. In the 36th match minute, Long Beach Sharks FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kip Whitt to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hank Cavazos in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Avery Nicholson saved Kickin Balls from getting behind. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hank Cavazos was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hank Cavazos in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Avery Nicholson saved Kickin Balls from getting behind. When Long Beach Sharks FC's Archie Vance in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Kickin Balls's goalie prevented a goal. After 53 played minutes Kickin Balls got a freekick which was hit by Cesar Key. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Lewis Sherwood managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kickin Balls's supporters rose to their feet, but Lewis Sherwood was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mel Payne breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brad Dubose during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 81 minutes into the match, Long Beach Sharks FC's Archie Vance sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Avery Nicholson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hank Cavazos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Archie Vance fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Avery Nicholson having to interfere. Cesar Key's late challenge caught a Long Beach Sharks FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cesar Key helped the player get up and apologised. In the 88th minute, Cesar Key hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 91st minute Hank Cavazos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Avery Nicholson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Avery Nicholson came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Long Beach Sharks FC's Hank Cavazos. But to his dismay, Hank Cavazos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0.
