The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the match, Long Beach Sharks FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lonnie McClain came free, but Mel Payne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Mckinley Burger fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sanger's protests and gave Mckinley Burger a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th match minute, Sanger was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mckinley Burger to maneuver through the defense. Peter Moses showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hank Cavazos in the 13th minute of the match. Hank Cavazos charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hank Cavazos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Hank Cavazos kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Stanford Bowling hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. If Ignacio Jacques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Archie Vance received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Peter Moses tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Reuben McConnell in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mel Payne prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sanger's Reuben McConnell got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mel Payne came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Sanger's Reuben McConnell. But to his dismay, Reuben McConnell quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3.

Long Beach Sharks FC's Luke Caldwell got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Peter Moses took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hank Cavazos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kip Whitt kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Mel Payne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ignacio Jacques, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignacio Jacques in the 67th minute of play forced Long Beach Sharks FC's goalkeeper Mel Payne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 73 minutes, Ignacio Jacques managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sanger's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ignacio Jacques was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mel Payne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ignacio Jacques in the 75th minute of the match. After 78 minutes, Kip Whitt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Long Beach Sharks FC and the Sanger players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Long Beach Sharks FC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Kip Whitt hit a great ball. 80 minutes into the game, Hank Cavazos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Peter Moses was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 85 played minutes Long Beach Sharks FC got a freekick which was hit by Caleb Lowry. When Hank Cavazos was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 90 minutes had been played.
