The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Beverly Hills's supporters rose to their feet, but Connor Coronado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adrian Rucker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 16 minutes, Connor Coronado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Beverly Hills's supporters crossed their fingers, but Connor Coronado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 26th minute, Leland Delgado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Beverly Hills fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. With a little luck, Almafuerte's Adrian Rucker got control of the ball when Leland Delgado tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joseph Shepherd's late challenge caught a Beverly Hills's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joseph Shepherd helped the player get up and apologised. Connor Coronado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Rucker having to interfere. After 42 minutes, Gordon Sweet mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Beverly Hills and the Almafuerte players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Beverly Hills's Gordon Sweet got a free kick in the 42nd minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

If Connor Coronado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 56 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Beverly Hills! In the 61st minute, Connor Coronado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adrian Rucker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Connor Coronado, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 64th minute Leland Delgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrian Rucker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Connor Coronado left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Beverly Hills fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. The supporters of Almafuerte booed when Beverly Hills was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gordon Sweet didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Beverly Hills's Clinton Barry got control of the ball when Ollie Godfrey tried to sneak it across the goal line.
