If Brent Clement had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joseph Cronin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ned Lemons, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Springfield FC's goalkeeper Houston Bowles, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Timmy Holt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Timmy Holt was the one to do the kick off. Noah Minor kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. 63 minutes into the game, Ned Lemons cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Joseph Cronin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ned Lemons got free with Joseph Cronin in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Joseph Cronin made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Ned Lemons sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Springfield FC defense, Brent Clement kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Houston Bowles. The Springfield FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Houston Bowles should have stopped the shot. In the 79th match minute, Springfield FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wallace Park to maneuver through the defense. Hunter Graves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Houston Bowles having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timmy Holt in the 83rd minute of play forced Wayland's goalkeeper Joseph Cronin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Timmy Holt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Joseph Cronin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ned Lemons fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joseph Cronin having to interfere. A collision led to Wayland getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Noah Minor hit a great ball. Timmy Holt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joseph Cronin having to make a save. Houston Bowles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hunter Graves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
