The supporters of Beverly Hills booed when Springfield FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cyrus Davies didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Ned Lemons had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Clinton Barry made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ned Lemons in the 8th minute. In the 9th minute, Timmy Holt fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The Beverly Hills fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when Beverly Hills's Connor Coronado looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Clinton Barry showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Timmy Holt, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Springfield FC's Ned Lemons sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Clinton Barry narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Springfield FC's Timmy Holt got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Clinton Barry didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ned Lemons went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Leland Delgado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 33 minutes into the match, Springfield FC's goal looked a bit too open when Connor Coronado came free, but Houston Bowles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leland Delgado in the 34th minute of play forced Springfield FC's goalkeeper Houston Bowles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Springfield FC's zone, Connor Coronado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Houston Bowles came out of the goal and Connor Coronado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Leland Delgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 41 minutes, Connor Coronado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Beverly Hills's supporters crossed their fingers, but Connor Coronado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 42nd minute, Ned Lemons got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Ned Lemons's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Clinton Barry read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. Beverly Hills's Clinton Barry played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Timmy Holt in the 55th minute of play. Springfield FC's Ned Lemons got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 68th minute, Gordon Sweet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 71st minute Timmy Holt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clinton Barry saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Timmy Holt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 75 minutes into the match, Springfield FC's goalkeeper Houston Bowles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leland Delgado. Ned Lemons sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute Timmy Holt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clinton Barry saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clinton Barry showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ned Lemons in the 87th minute of the match.
